Complete your budget

You can use this interactive form to work out your own budget. You’ll need to work through the ‘budgeting for beginners’ and ‘budgeting assignments’ sections of the website first to make sure you understand how to use it.

The aim of this project is to help you understand budgeting so its not vital that you put in exact amounts – some of them, like rent, you may not pay.

If you do not have FLASH on your computer print out the budget form.

With the paper-based version you will have to do your own calculations to work out total income, total regular expenditure and any surplus or deficit (you must avoid a deficit!)

Be as accurate as you can and you will soon see if you are spending more money every month than you are earning or receiving. Later you can refine the budget by using more and more accurate figures.
